We are looking for a Product Owner of the solar photovoltaic engineer, with the ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment. She or he will become part of an integrated and agile team, working directly with Product Managers, product designers, frontend, backend, and algorithmia experts. This position will support the product development of the software pvDesign. The position is based in our office in Madrid and will report to the product manager of the solar photovoltaic team
The candidate will be responsible for
You are responsible for supporting the discovery process of solar pv projects and for defining engineering requirements with the help of our team of software engineers.
Prepare, improve and validate the technical documentation (reports, bill of materials, layouts, and electrical diagrams).
Understand from a technical perspective what our customers expect from the software and provide engineering improvements to our development team.
You will interact with the Product Manager, and undergo research to achieve a deep understanding of the technical intricacies of potential new features or tools.
You will collaborate with the software, customer success and business teams, to frame and solve new product challenges, from both a technical and a business perspective.
You are responsible for validating the technical results of the features implemented in pvDesign.
Required skills
3+ years of experience in developing solar photovoltaic projects.
Successfully completed degree: Master or PhD in Industrial / Energy / Electrical Engineering.
Strong motivation to drive impact by making product improvements.
Proactiveness, teamwork, and fast learning.
English language working competence - C1 (ideal).
Desired skills
General knowledge and understanding of developing utility-scale solar pv plants and battery energy storage systems.
General knowledge of the solar PV developing stages, requests for proposal, tenders, manufactures and industry.
You are highly motivated to change the renewable energy market by planning storage solutions for our PV power plants.
Experience in preparing engineering documentation in Word/Excel and design drawings in CAD.
Experience with solar software such as PVSyst.
Willingness to extend your expert knowledge and to apply it in new areas.
